Flame Amur Maple, Acer ginnala Flame. The variety Flame is very hardy with a spreading branch pattern, bright red fruits, vivid red fall color. Small, cold hardy, multi-trunk Maple with flaming red fall color. Tolerant of adverse urban sites and soil conditions. A decidious Tree growing to 32ft by 26ft at a fast rate. It is in flower in May, and the seeds ripen from Sep to October. This plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and can grow in heavy clay soil.The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils..It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It requires moist soil. They are very popular for use as bonsai due to their ready ability to respond to most bonsai techniques, beautiful foliage and graceful branch structure. Deer resistant.
